In 1987, many untalented friends gathered together for a benefit dance for a fallen "buddy". They scraped together about 14 songs ranging from Louie, Louie to Soulman. Any songs with more than four chords were forbidden. And each song had to have at least three guitar leads to satisfy the pre-historic urges of our 5 lead guitarists.
As time went by, many of the guitarists grew bored and moved on to "Grunge" bands. However, the CORE members stayed the course, held the vision and mastered the FIVE chord song.
The result, after many years of toil, is "C P R"! The greatest Rock and Soul band nary a black man. It is now my privilege to introduce you to the members of C P R!
Tom Wessel has NO musical background. But now is considered the most valued member of the octet. He considers himself a "virtual musical genius". And that, in itself, is a sad commentary. His duties range from lead singer, rythym guitarist and arranger to holding the band together with smoke and mirror gadgetry.
His voice has been compared to Paul Giamatti, do you remember him from the movie "Duets"? It starred Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis. Anyhoo, he's an allright guy.
